cannondale is very poor bike and overrathed . lefty is most ugly fork in mtb history .
SuperX is cyclocross bike. Other one is MTB with wrong tyres and handlebar.
would a shorter wheelbase make a bike more nimble
canondale slate is ugly however it was the winning bike in the Dirty Kansas race. Not aware of the race check it out. BTW Cross bike looks beautiful.
i don’t think this bloke has got a clue
You guys don’t know shit, I own a Slate and it’s the best bike I ever had.
So CX Bike For Racing- Gravel bike- Touring And All Round Fun Riding.
I think you need to try out the slate and then give us a report please . I’m about to buy the slate but would wait for your report
Got myself a SuperX, put on Conti road tires 28mm width, its a beast. Both fun on and off road. Of course it cant go full insane in the woods, but still quite fun on single track 🙂
stop movin the camera im getting sick
Nimble over stable is very confusing it would be better if you would tell about the geometry or what the bike was built to do but just saying one is nimble versus stable makes no sense to me
that lefty fork needs to go already
I think 1x drivetrain is alright with cross bike but on a gravel bike it won’t really work until maybe they come with 1×12 so there can be true climbing gear and road gear at the same time. Then they will be awesome! I have an old Lefty MTB and one is all I need; I don’t like so much proprietary technology.
The thing about gravel bike is they can be anywhere from quite mountain bike-like to road bikes with wider stays and forks for wider tires. Cyclocross has to conform more to qualify for cyclocross races that have configuration guidelines/rules.
Have you seen the 2017 Slate with the rigid Lefty fork?
Based on what? The Cannondale superx is a great cross bike winning many races. The slate won the dirty kanza 200 mile gravel race. The winner said it was the lefty fork that allowed him to do it , riding solo for 100miles, the comfort of the fork allowed him to maintain an aero position by soaking up the bumps.
That said, I do not buy the gravel bike hype, just buy a good cross bike and for most people it will do everything
i don’t like the asymmetrical fork… honestly, it’s just a feeling, but it doesn’t inspire confidence.
