Specialized Epic Evo 2019 Review – Flow Mountain Bike

XC race bikes are great… if you’re racing. In a quest to add a little more versatility to the speedy and efficient Epic, Specialized have released an Evo version.

With a longer travel fork, a dropper post and a few other changes, it’s built to blur the line between trail and race. In some ways it succeeds brilliantly, in others, the suspension system dominated the ride performance.

Kind of not required. The 2019 Stumpy short travel 29r is the answer. All day fun with XC like pedalling. I have an expert and it’s incredible!!!!

mjs1231 says:

So they marketed their xc race bike as a trail bike without the slacker ha ?

Michael Clark says:

Where’s the footage of you shredding that beauty?

ThunderStruckCoach says:

Great review! Threaded BB right?

Mushypea Adventure Cycling says:

The bike falling was a classic Chris! So glad you left it in, good to have some laughs with great reviewing banter 🙂

Shaun says:

It’s like putting a lift kit and bull bars on a Porsche Boxster and hoping it will serve a slightly different purpos but it will always be a compromise.

Couple of guys I ride with did exactly this to their own Epics one sold his to buy proper trail bike and the converted it back for its intended purpose.

Wooden Nick says:

When do we get a look at the stumpjumper evo?

Daniel Heynike says:

Niiiiiice, great review!

I’m still undecided, but leaning towards this bike over the Blur and Spark RC.
