STARK Electric Bike, quick review, thoughts and quick no pedal ride uphill

A small review of the two STARK electric bikes that I bought from their Crowdfunding website. These were the batch 2 builds and took around 6 months to get.
These Black and White models are both the City+ models with the 350 Watt motors. Great fit and finish on both, with one of the fork stickers a little off center on the white one. I don’t think you can buy a cheaper electric bike with a internal Lithium battery that looks this good at this price point. All in all I’m very happy with this purchase, and are planning on buying two more for my kids.

Is your bike still working ? Also what size battery did you buy with the bike ?

pj520 says:

Does it have a torque sensor or cadence?

I was an early Stark Indiegogo backer and while I got my money back, I remain very suspicious of Stark. I believe that Indiegogo had very good reason to end their campaign. At any rate, my third Sondors ebike arrives today — the first two have been great — and I am also really pleased with the Flash V1 that I backed on Indiegogo and that was delivered ahead of schedule.

Although I haven’t ridden any other Ebikes to compare the Stark bike to, I think they’re a great buy. The price was cheaper than any other Ebike out there that I can find with the features that I wanted at a price point under $1,000, so good in fact that I took a chance and bought two for a total price of $1,552. I was a little worried after the 5th month of waiting (with no reviews or youtube videos to be seen), but the bikes turned out to be legit. Some notes about my video: I’m no hardcore biker, so take my instruction and review with a grain of salt. I really made the small simple description and operation portion on switching gears for my Millennial kids that were clueless on how to use them (I forgot to mention to only switch gears while peddling with little force). The reason I made the uphill no pedal video portion at the end was MY curiosity to see if it even had the power to do that, and yes I was pleasantly surprised. I don’t think I’ll be making anymore riding videos, because you can see the commercial videos of Oscar and others riding on the STARK website. Oh, and thanks for the comments.

Arnold Smith says:

Thanks for the review. Would have liked to see the folding demonstrated. Also the battery stats would have been helpful. All and all a great video. Cheers.

lots of room in that frame for upgrades. x-treme scooters uses the same frame for their x-treme baja, its a 500w bike. https://x-tremescooters.com/products/electric-bicycles/48-volt-electric-bicycles/baja-48-volt#/0

Glad to help. FYI, batch 3 Stark bikes are going to end at end of March and will ship end of May 2018, if you can wait that long.

Peter Schenk says:

Great review. Got mine today, put it together and plan on using it to go to work (only 1.3 mile commute)

MarvFIT says:

Thanks for the review. This is looking like a great option for my 7 miles commute to work. Looking to save some money on gas

kght222 says:

lol it took me a second to notice the speedometer was in metric, i was like wtf he’s only going like 5 or 6mph why is it saying 11? duh

Adham Davlatov says:

got mine today delivered to USA. will do a follow up review on ride quality. you just have to know you wait 4.5months to get this delivered .. which I believe isn’t emphasized enough when you buy it. otherwise the bike looks good and seems like a good value for the money. quick shipment alternatives are $1500 Radbike – I paid $870 for my Stark ($235 of it is for shipping). If they can do cheaper shipping I think they can lower prices further – which is supposedly their mission – to get as many people on e-bikes.

Marc Caldera says:

The bike I received was SO problematic! I had to take it to the bike shop to get it put together and fix some issues, including a punctured inner tube. It doesn’t even make it small hills without pedaling. I definitely would NOT recommend this bike as I contacted the company and customer service didn’t give a sh**! Also didn’t come with ANY instructions, It’s a LEMON!

tim rezgalla says:

It was a scam lol and he failed on IGG! Look at mate now, great bikes & $20m from 2 campaigns, their bikes are built well & just from looking here you can see how cheap it looks, from the other vids & reviews on here of Oska Starks bike it ain’t to good. After service is non existent…you’d be better stripping that shit away & fitting the e parts to a decent ride

Samsung Cam says:

please more riding videos!! at least us poor folks that are part of batch 3 can live through you…

Anel Camelon says:

Is your bike still working? Can you do a follow up video?

Patrick coello says:

Can you do a video where you ride and pedal, as well as pedaling without the battery, i don’t know how that works

Mauricio Hernández says:

I ordered my bike almost 9 months ago I don’t get anything

A. David says:

Thanks for the review, they are a rare enough thing I was starting to think the thing’s a dud.
I just took mine down the road to the bike shop to make sure the wheels are straight and everything’s tight and adjusted. Bike season starts in 4 days.

UNIQUETALIB halleberry says:

Quick question..have you experienced any frame flex?

Blu Dreem says:

Can you do a video showing how you get the battery in and out?

I received my bike today, and the battery was already in the bike. From what I can tell in the few videos I’ve found, the battery usually comes separately. When I use the key is locked, the key won’t come out. When it’s unlocked, the button on the side (that seems to be a release) doesn’t go in far enough to get the battery out. I keep pulling on the battery hoping it’ll slide but the handle looks like it’s going to break if I keep it up.

Thank you!

Georgios F. says:

I never understood why so many bikes, even the ones supposedly high end, come without mudguards.

Chris Tonnu says:

Fake, don’t use their website it’s a scam

Distra says:

I think you was scamed. If you buyed this bike from crowfunding, then it was just fake resellers trick to sell stuff. Those bikes are from china. You can search in china reseller website aliexpress -> Cyrusher XF700 it’s will be same bike. And there is many variations of these bikes. Sorry for poor english.

trippy mane says:

How much was the shipping price?..i wanna get the basic stark drive with a throttle will it be more than $425?…other places charge over $200 for shipping does start do that to?
